Robust Estimation of Camera Parameters Pan, Tilt and Zoom for Integration of Virtual Objects into Video Sequences
نویسنده
چکیده
The integration of virtual objects into an image sequence captured by a moving camera is of high interest for special eeects in tv-and lm-productions. For the composition, the camera parameters of the real camera are estimated and transferred to a virtual camera. The estimation accuracy is very critical, because even small estimation errors can be recognised as localisation jitter of the inserted virtual objects. This contribution presents a robust estimation technique for computation of camera parameters pan, tilt and zoom from an image sequence. Based on conventional feature detection and correspondence analysis, the robustness of the approach is achieved by using a highly eecient outlier detection of misaligned correspondences.

Robust pan, tilt and zoom estimation
In this paper we propose a method for estimating the motion parameters for a rotating camera with a possibly changing focal length. This method is suitable for analysing sport event videos. The estimation process consists of three stages: (1) robust estimation of the 2-D translational components, (2) 2-D block-based motion estimation and (3) robust estimation of a parametric motion model. For m...

In this paper, we present the estimation method of global motion parameters corresponding to 3D camera motion in the nonstationary noisy situation. Total least squares problem is first formulated to represent the global motion parameters estimation procedure from the noise-corrupted image coordinates. Then, a recursive total least squares (RTLS) algorithm is proposed to estimate 3D camera motio...

The introduction of active (pan-tilt-zoom or PTZ) cameras in Smart Rooms in addition to fixed static cameras allows to improve resolution in volumetric reconstruction, adding the capability to track smaller objects with higher precision in actual 3D world coordinates. To accomplish this goal, precise camera calibration data should be available for any pan, tilt, and zoom settings of each PTZ ca...

This paper presents a method of automated virtual loop assignment and direction-based motion estimation. The unique features of our approach are that first, a number of loops are automatically assigned to each lane. The merit of doing this is that it accommodates pan–tilt–zoom (PTZ) actions without needing further human interaction. Second, the size of the virtual loops is much smaller for esti...

Choosing the appropriate type of video input is an important issue for any vision-based system and the right decision must take into account the specific requirements of the intended application. We present GlobeAll, a modular four-component prototype for a vision-based Intelligent Room: a video input component that uses an electronic pan-tilt-zoom camera array, a background learning and foregr...
